Those who have led the Senior, Preparatory and Junior Schools — 1942 to the present.

Those Who Have Led the Three Schools

Lawrence College is three schools on one hillside, and each has its own head. This page records 30 Headmasters and Headmistresses across the Senior, Preparatory and Junior Schools, with the years each served — the earliest reaching back to 1942.

The Headmaster of the Senior School also holds the office of Vice-Principal. Several figures appear twice, having returned for a second term; their entries show both periods.

Four Tenures Worth Knowing

Twenty-nine names, but a handful shaped their schools for a generation apiece.

Mr. Arshad Iqbal Ch

Headmaster, Senior School · 1998–2005 and 2013 to date

Vice-Principal of the college as well as Headmaster of the Senior School, and the only head to have served in the post across two separate tenures. His leadership has been central to the Senior School’s academic record over the last two decades.

Mr. Muhammad Munir

Headmaster, Preparatory School · 1955–1984 (29 years)

Twenty-nine unbroken years in charge of the Preparatory School — the longest single period of school leadership anywhere in the college’s records. An entire generation of Gallians passed through the middle estate under one Headmaster.

Miss Norah E Glegg

Headmistress, Junior School · 1942–1959 and 1962–1965

The earliest head on record, and one of the most consequential. Across two stints spanning more than twenty years she set the ethos of the Junior School at its foundation, and is remembered for it still.

Ms Shahla Saif

Headmistress, Junior School · 2026 to date

Took charge of the Junior School in 2026, continuing eight decades of leadership by Headmistresses on the upper estate.
