Admissions at Lawrence College
Lawrence College Ghora Gali is one of Pakistan's most sought-after boarding schools. Admission is competitive — each year, many more applications are received than there are places available. The college seeks boys who combine academic ability with good character, physical activity and the potential to contribute to all aspects of Gallian life.
The admissions process is designed to be thorough and fair, giving every applicant the opportunity to demonstrate their potential. Admission decisions are based on academic performance, entrance test results and interview performance.
Check Eligibility
Confirm your son meets the age and academic requirements for the school and class you are applying to. There are no reserved seats and no quota of any category: admission is strictly on merit.
Obtain & Complete Application Form
Application forms are available from the college's admissions office. The form requires personal details, academic history, parent/guardian information, and the documents listed on the Admission Notices page.
Submit Documents
Required documents are the candidate's NADRA Form-B or NICOP, four passport-size photographs, the latest school record or result, and the deposit slip for the Rs. 5,000 test fee — as listed on the Admission Notices page.
Entrance Test
Shortlisted candidates sit an entrance examination testing English, Mathematics and Urdu for Classes I to VII, with Science added for Class VIII and O-Level applicants, at a level appropriate to their target school and class. The test is held at the college or at designated centres.
A non-refundable admission test fee of PKR 5,000 is payable into the college’s HBL account before the application is submitted. Proof of payment must be attached to the application — the online form will not accept a submission without it.
Interview
Successful candidates in the entrance test are invited for an interview with a panel including college staff. The interview assesses confidence, communication, general awareness and the candidate's suitability for boarding school life.
Offer & Acceptance
Successful candidates receive a formal offer of a place. Acceptance requires payment of admission and term fees within the specified deadline. A comprehensive joining handbook is provided to all newly accepted students.

Fees & Financial Support
Lawrence College charges term fees covering tuition, boarding, meals, basic uniform and standard activities. Fees are structured to be accessible given the college's status as a partially subsidised national institution, particularly for sons of military personnel.
Scholarship funds are available for deserving students who demonstrate academic merit but face financial hardship. Old Gallians administer scholarship programmes, and details are available from the admissions office. Parents in financial difficulty are encouraged to enquire about available support before assuming that fees are unaffordable.
First Year (SSC) Admissions
Students applying to First Year (Class XI) are required to have passed the SSC examination under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi. Admission to First Year requires a written test covering Urdu, English, Mathematics and Science at SSC level. Casual vacancies arising after the main intake are filled in March.
Fee Payment at Admission
Fees must be deposited into the college's official HBL account. No cheques are acceptable. Payment is by cash deposit or online bank transfer only.

Admission Test Fee
A non-refundable admission test fee of PKR 5,000 is charged for every application, payable into the same account before the form is submitted. Keep the deposit slip or the transfer receipt: a legible copy of it must be uploaded with the online application, and the original brought to the entry test.
The test fee is separate from, and additional to, the admission fee and security deposit shown on the fee structure. It is not refunded, and is not adjusted against later fees, whether or not the candidate is offered a place.
A late fine of PKR 100 per day is charged if fees remain unpaid after the due date. If fees are not paid within 15 days, the student may be struck off the roll.
Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawals from the college are accepted at the end of the academic year (December). Parents wishing to withdraw their son mid-term must give one month's prior notice. The following conditions apply:
- A fine of PKR 100 per day is charged from 1 January until the date of withdrawal if a student continues beyond December without re-enrolling
- A student absent for 10 or more consecutive days without approved leave will be struck off the roll and the security deposit forfeited

“We sent Ghora Gali a shy ten-year-old and it returned us a confident young man. The mountain does something to boys that no city school can.”
“The masters know every boy by name. When our son was homesick in his first term, his Housemaster telephoned us before we had thought to call him.”
