Defence Day 2026 — Wreath-Laying at Yadgar-e-Shuhada

Lawrence College observed Pakistan’s Defence Day on 6 September 2026 with solemnity, reverence and national pride.

In keeping with tradition, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada — the College’s memorial dedicated to the Shuhada of Pakistan. The occasion honoured the supreme sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and strengthened the bond of Gallians with the nation’s military heritage and spirit of service.

The ceremony began with Quranic recitation, followed by special prayers for the elevation of ranks of the Shuhada and for the peace, progress and security of Pakistan. Students, faculty, the Heads of Schools and the Principal gathered to pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the homeland.

In his address, the Principal highlighted the significance of the sixth of September and urged students to embody the values of patriotism, discipline, courage and selfless service demonstrated by our Shuhada.

Through this annual observance, Lawrence College reaffirms its commitment to remembering the Shuhada and to nurturing citizens who are devoted to the nation.
