In a heartfelt display of gratitude, Lawrence College Ghora Gali hosted a memorable Thanksgiving Lunch on November 21, 2024, honouring its selfless support staff. This meaningful gesture acknowledged their tireless efforts in creating a conducive learning environment.
The ceremony honored senior school janitors, peons, gardeners, mess and dormitory attendants, sanitary caretakers, runners, drivers, security sentinels, and other unsung heroes. Our principal’s presence underscored his commitment to fostering inclusivity and harmony.
Students from the Intermediate Class and prefects served the support staff with warmth and empathy, embodying the principal’s philosophy of humanism and goodwill. This gesture filled the support staff’s hearts with joy, respect, and fulfillment.
A sumptuous meal featuring fine cuisine and delectable desserts was served. The principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to the junior staff for their unwavering dedication, hoping for their continued commitment.
This historic ceremony imparted a profound lesson to students: the importance of noble human values aligned with Islamic heritage. Lawrence College’s educational approach transcends convention, embracing inclusivity and community. Education here extends beyond privilege, nurturing all contributors to its tapestry.

Zuhrana-e-Tashakur 2024: Prep and Junior Schools
On 20th November 2024, the Prep and Junior Schools hosted their annual Zuhrana-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving Lunch), a special event to show gratitude to the support staff who work behind the scenes. The event, held in the Prep School Dining Hall, brought together students and staff to celebrate the contributions of janitors, gardeners, security personnel, mess attendants, drivers, and others who play a vital role in maintaining the school’s environment. Additionally, the labourers working at the under-construction swimming pool were also invited to join the event, recognizing their important work in keeping the facilities in top condition.
Brigadier Mujahid Alam (R), Principal Lawrence College, attended the event and expressed his deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the support staff. He emphasized the importance of their well-being and highlighted how their efforts help create a safe and positive learning environment for students.
The young Gallians of the Junior and Prep Schools served the support staff with care and respect, creating a meaningful connection between them. The support staff were touched by the gesture and enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes and desserts. Golden Lunch 2024 - A Celebration of Excellence
On November 18, 2024, GG’s esteemed Golden Lunch tradition honored outstanding students in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. The prestigious event, held on the Senior School lawn, drew faculty, students, school heads, Directors of Studies, and administrative staff.
The ceremony commenced with a poignant recitation from the Holy Quran, eloquently translated by Abu Bakr and M. Shaheer Bhatti from Class XII.
Head Boy Abdul Rafay Bhatti lauded Lawrence College for fostering responsible citizens, acknowledging teachers’, Vice Principal’s, and Principal’s pivotal roles.
The Principal awarded certificates and prizes to top achievers in various subjects, class position holders, and co-curricular activities.
The Principal emphasized character building, stressing the importance of instilling strong moral values and ethical principles in students. He commended the Vice Principal/HMSS, Mr. M. Arshad Iqbal Ch., and Senior School faculty for outstanding Board results.
The event culminated in a sumptuous lunch, graciously served to guests, students, and faculty.
Founders' Day, 2024
On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Lawrence College marked its 164th Founders’ Day at Jamali Stadium. The event displayed the talents of young Gallians, earning widespread acclaim from the audience.
Renowned defence analyst and security expert, Mr. Ikram Sehgal, a distinguished Old Gallian, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A large gathering of esteemed guests, Old Gallians and proud parents attended the ceremony.
The proceedings featured an impressive march past, captivating PT display and a skillful display of archery. It highlighted the students’ discipline, skill and teamwork.
Principal Brig Mujahid Alam (Retd) presented the College’s Annual Report, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest and other guests for their presence. He emphasized the college’s commitment to comprehensive development, grooming and training of students.
Mr. Ikram Sehgal congratulated all houses on their outstanding performances, particularly Wright House for securing the coveted Cock House Shield and Peake House for remaining the runners-up. He reminded the students of the College’s purposeful motto and encouraged them to embody its spirit. He also lauded the College management, faculty and students for their tireless efforts in achieving significant progress, particularly positions in the Board examinations.
In a generous move, Mr. Sehgal announced a donation for construction of a swimming pool to the College from his personal funds, leaving the audience moved and appreciative.
The guests enjoyed refreshments at the conclusion of the ceremony. Preceding this event, the Annual Performing Arts Show had enthralled students, guests and parents over three days, featuring a diverse variety show, including songs, dances, English and Urdu plays, showcasing the talents of students from all three schools.
Lawrence College's Annual Performing Arts Show Dazzles Audience
From September 23rd to 25th, 2024, Lawrence College hosted its highly anticipated Annual Performing Arts Show, mesmerizing audience over three unforgettable days. Students from all three schools poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of the production, displaying their artistic talents with creativity and confidence.
The show featured an array of captivating performances, including:
- Enchanting musical renditions
- Captivating cultural dances
- Thought-provoking English and Urdu plays
Each segment demonstrated the dedication and passion of the young Gallians, leaving the audience in awe.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal Lawrence College recognized the students’ impressive performances and thanked the teachers for nurturing their creative talents. He also expressed deep gratitude to Syed Suleman Gillani for his gracious presence, which added immense value to the event.
On the final day, the esteemed Syed Suleman Gillani, a renowned comic poet and one of Pakistan’s top poets, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Known for his unique style of poetry on daily life, current affairs, motivation, and education, Syed Gillani has garnered immense respect globally and won numerous national and international awards.
In his address, Syed Gillani commended the students’ outstanding performances and emphasized the significance of co-curricular activities in fostering holistic development. He then regaled the audience with his witty poetry, earning thunderous applause.
As a token of appreciation, the college presented Syed Gillani with a College souvenir.
Defence Day, 2024
On September 6th, Lawrence College Ghora Gali commemorated the Defence Day of Pakistan with a poignant ceremony, honouring the nation’s brave martyrs. The students and faculty of the three schools gathered at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where Principal LCGG, accompanied by the Head Boy, laid a wreath on behalf of the College . The Naara-e-Pakistan echoed through the air, expressing love for the motherland.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Hashir Waheed and translation by Hamza Khan. Principal LCGG delivered a heartfelt speech, paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of remembering their ultimate sacrifice and renewing the pledge to the motherland. He encouraged the young Gallians to reflect on the sacrifices of the Shuhada and visit the Yadgar-e-Shuhada often.
The Principal also quoted Napoleon Bonaparte, “The boundaries of a nations greatness are marked by the graves of its martyrs and soldiers”, and highlighted the current situations in Kashmir and Palestine, contrasting them with the peace enjoyed in Pakistan due to the martyrs’ sacrifices.
The ceremony concluded with a Du’a for Pakistan’s protection and prosperity, led by Hafiz Atta-ur-Rehman, and the national anthem, filling the hearts of the participants with patriotism and pride.
Independence Day, 2024
Lawrence College marked Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The ceremony began with the Principal’s arrival at the combined assembly of the three schools in the Senior School lawn. The national flag was hoisted, followed by the recitation of “Naa’ra-e-Pakistan” and a dua for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
In his address, the Principal emphasized the significance of the day, paying tribute to the founding figures of the Pakistan Movement, including Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and their companions. He highlighted Quaid-e-Azam’s exceptional character, noting that even his political opponents regarded him as unimpeachable.
The Principal encouraged everyone to embrace the contemplative spirit of the day, fostering collective introspection and self-discovery. He also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are facing Israeli government cruelty, and prayed for the freedom and peaceful lives of the people of Kashmir and Palestine.
Following the flag hoisting, students and staff moved to their respective schools for house-wise gatherings, where they shared their views on Independence Day. This arrangement ensured maximum student participation, promoting a sense of ownership and collective pride.
Sports Day, 2024
On July 9th, 2024, the annual Sports Day was held, culminating in a spectacular display of strength, skill, dedication and teamwork. The event brought together students from all three schools, esteemed teachers, and heads of schools, creating a joyous and memorable atmosphere. Principal Lawrence College graced the occasion as the chief guest, adding to the significance of the celebration.
The young athletes from the three schools delivered outstanding performances in athletics and martial arts, garnering thunderous applause from the audience. Following the competitions, the Principal presented awards to the winners. Walker House claimed the Raza Shah Shaheed Trophy for athletics while Wright House secured the Marching Cup. Abdullah Sohail was declared the best athlete.
In his address, the Principal commended the Gallians for their spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie. He emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in the comprehensive development of young Gallians, highlighting the role of physical training and sports in building endurance, stamina, skills, confidence, and a competitive spirit. He advised them to be positive in any situation and focus on their goals. He expressed gratitude to the heads of schools, faculty members, and administrative staff for their tireless efforts in elevating the College’s standards.
Pakistan Day, 2024
Lawrence College marked the 84th Pakistan Day with fervour and patriotism. Special house assemblies were organised to commemorate the great struggle of the heroes of Pakistan Movement for the creation of a new state for Muslims.
The event saw young Gallians reflecting on the significance of the Pakistan Resolution, emphasizing our duties in the modern era. They honoured the invaluable contributions of visionaries like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Chaudhry Rehmat Ali, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Liaquat Ali Khan, Mohtarama Fatima Jinnah, and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose unwavering dedication led to the creation of Pakistan. The festivities encompassed recitations from the Holy Quran, insightful speeches, stirring national songs, and the rendition of the national anthem, enhancing the essence of the occasion.
