Cambridge Professional Development Workshops
Teachers Training Workshops were held by the British Council at Marriot Islamabad from 14th to 15th of March, 2016, as a part of Cambridge Professional Development Programme for O’ level teachers. Mr Shabbir Alam from Department of Physics, Mr Abid Hussain from the Department of Chemistry and Mrs Riffat Rehana from the Department of English attended the workshops.
The workshops were conducted by Principal Examiners of CIE O’ level. The programme aimed at exploring teaching strategies and materials, discuss the role of assessment in improving performance, provide opportunity for hands-on marking, give ideas for developing practical materials to improve quality of learning and provide forum to share good practice.
The workshops proved highly useful as it not only provided an insight into CIE paper setting and marking but also provided a chance of sharing views and experiences with group of teachers from different institutions.
